There was a long lull in posts here. Where did I go?
I took a full time job for nearly two years at the Northwest Maritime Center in Port Townsend, as the Program Operations Coordinator. I and one other fellow maintained the 60 boat fleet. I also managed and repaired a vast horde of associated equipment and ordered any new gear needed. I was on the water a lot, moving all types of boats around, fueling them up, helping with the adult and kids maritime educational programs, and crewing on sailboats for public charters and down to Seattle for the school. And there were staff meetings. Lots of meetings.
It was an interesting job, but my personal boating adventures and boat work mostly evaporated during this period. Although I did manage to build a new boat, in my spare time and vacations in 2025.
Then it was time for a change. After leaving the job I had a good long think about what I wanted to do next.
What I came to should not be at all surprising. I am going exploring, the Pacific Northwest waters I love so much, in my little boats, with my camera. The photography in particular I plan to focus on with renewed passion.
